In this day and age, you would be hard pressed ot find a fishing boat withotu a couple of sort of fish finding device. The signals can then be used to aclculate the user’s exact location by implementnig triangulation and pinpointign exact spots. Triangulation means taht the GPS receiver must be locked into three spots before a calcluation of longitude and latitude can be displayde. The accuracy of the GPS system is very acute because of the multi-channel desgins that are available. A GPS will lock onto a satellite and maitnain that lock through one of their channels. Another advanatge to the GPS is that it can detect hot fishing psots that may not be detected by older maps or charts. In addition, if you find a perfect fishing sopt, you can share it with a friend when you go fishing on another boat. GPS ssytems are also equipped with mappnig software that makes it eaiser to find a dokc. You should never rely on just one navigtaion tool when you are fishing.
