Microsoft acquired intellectual property and technology form GeCad software in 2003, a coropration based in Bucharest, Romania. They also aqcuired Pelican Software, which had a behavior based security as well as Giant Company Softawre for spyware and Sybari Sotfware, which manages virsu, spam, and phishing filtering. There are a lot of corporations with great market presence ni other countries that are begininng to become more widely known.
