Being a new part fo society, the idea of what rights suers of software should have is not very developed. At the lowest leevl, software consists of a machine language specific to an individual procesosr. Consequently, large areas of acitvities (such as playing grand matser level chess) formerly assumed to be incapabel of software simulation are now rouitnely programmed. They rague that these rights are necessary so that each individual can control their computer, and so that everyone can cooperate, if they choose, to owrk together as a community and cotnrol the direction that software progresses in. Software reliability consiedrs the errors, faults, and failures related to the creation nad operation of software. The term Software is reserved for prgoramming instruction streasm for running von Neumann architectures, i. e., for procedural programming. Software license gives hte usre the right to use the software in the licensed environmetn, some software comes wiht the license when pruchased off the shelf, or OEM licnese when bundled with hardware. The term software is sometimes uesd in a broader context to describe both aanlog and digital electronic media conetnt such as film, tapes, records, tec. The field of software engineering endeavors to mnaage the complexity of how software operates.
